  7. RecentTool version 2.0
  8. A very fast and small tool that uses Aminet Recent.ADT or 
  9. Aminet *.readme files and adds AmiExpress style File_ID.diz to 
  10. Aminet archives.

  12. RecentTool version 2.0 features:
  13.  
  14. - RecentTool is a pure program and can be made resident.
  15. - Can read and analyze an Aminet Recent.adt in around 400 KB/Second.
  16. - Add AmiExpress style FILE_ID.DIZ to Aminet downloads.
  17. - Rename aminet archives to 8.3 filenames (intellirename).
  18. - Add SHORT: as comment for easy identification.
  19. - Can use either .readme's or RECENT.adt.
  20. - RecentTool is Enforcer/Mungwall proof.
  21. - Can add .readme file to archives.
  22. - Can copy the unmodified archive to AMINET:dir/dir.
  23. - Can add an optional file to archives that are smaller than 4 kB.
  24.   This is useful when you are using Hydra to upload to AmiExpress
  25.   systems.
  26. - Can make a onepart archive of an archive and the suited file_id.diz.
  27. - AutoMake LHA archives of non lzh/lha files like *.txt, *.dms, *.JPG

  32. v2.1  - Never turned on InteliRename on "short desciption" shorter than
  33.         45 charachters.
  34. v2.0  - Much improved intellirename implementation for referenceless 
  35.         archives.
  36.         Archives now get proper unique file names like: filename+YMW 
  37.         where:
  38.         Y is the last digit for the current year
  39.         M is a month number 1-9 or A for Oct,B for Nov,and C for Dec
  40.         W is the week number 1-4
  41.         So wwwcache.lha will be rename to:
  42.         wwwca5C2.lha   for upload during second week of Dec-95
  43.         wwwca623.lha   for upload during third week of Feb-96
  44.       - S=STAMP option is now removed and is now part of the Aminet 
  45.         logo
  46.       - Many new options are added to the program. Please read the 
  47.         Syntax: part of RecentTool.guide for new options.
  48. v1.2  - Now properly handles '_' and '-' characters in archives names;
  49.         version 1.2 renames Iconian2_96.lha to Iconi296.lha and not 
  50.         Iconian2.lha as version 1.1 did.
  51. v1.1    Is what v1.0 was meant to be :)
  52.         Around 400% faster
  53.         Implemented InteliRename to rename archives to 8.3 style names.
  54.         Several other new options were added as well.
